Empowering Communities Through Health Equity
At Thrive India, we believe that good health is the foundation upon which vibrant and resilient communities are built. Our healthcare initiatives are focused on bridging gaps in access, raising awareness about healthy practices, and ensuring that even the most vulnerable populations receive the care they need.
Our Holistic Approach to Health:
- Accessible Healthcare for All: We strengthen primary health systems by upgrading public health centers, deploying mobile medical units, and supporting frontline health workers in hard-to-reach regions. Our interventions ensure equitable healthcare access, regardless of geography.
- Nutrition and Wellness: We combat malnutrition through nutritional supplementation, community education, and diet diversity programs for children, adolescent girls, and pregnant women.
-India still faces high malnutrition: 35.5% of children under five are stunted (NFHS-5, 2020-21). - Health Education and Awareness: We run engaging, community-based education drives on maternal health, infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), adolescent health, and vaccination awareness. These include workshops, school sessions, street plays, and health rallies to drive local impact.
- Sanitation and Hygiene: Sanitation is a cornerstone of public health. We build and maintain toilet infrastructure, distribute hygiene kits, and deliver training on menstrual hygiene management and handwashing practices.
36% of rural households still lack basic sanitation (Swachh Bharat Mission, 2023)
Statistics Highlighting the Need:
- Healthcare Accessibility: According to the National Sample Survey (NSS) 2018, only about 28% of rural households and 50% of urban households in India have access to good healthcare facilities. Our programs aim to bridge this gap by enhancing healthcare infrastructure and services.
- Malnutrition Rates: Despite improvements, malnutrition remains a significant issue in India. According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5) 2020, 35.5% of children under five are stunted, and 19.3% are wasted. Our nutrition programs are crucial in addressing this challenge.
- Sanitation Deficiencies: As per the Swachh Bharat Mission, while significant progress has been made, about 36% of rural households still lack access to basic sanitation facilities. Our sanitation initiatives work towards eliminating this deficit.
- Mental Health Crisis: The National Mental Health Survey 2015-16 found that nearly 14% of India’s population requires active mental health interventions. Our mental health programs strive to meet this pressing need.
Our Vision for the Future: We envision a future where every individual in India has access to quality healthcare and the knowledge to maintain a healthy lifestyle. By expanding our health programs and forging strong partnerships, we aim to build healthier, more resilient communities.
