Every child deserves uninterrupted access to quality education.
To achieve this, Thrive India successfully reconstructed a damaged school in Kharbali, Barpeta, Assam. The school serves 371 students, with their parents and relatives benefiting indirectly from the reconstruction.
The Need
The 2022 floods in Assam severely affected Barpeta, causing extensive damage to schools. Ensuring uninterrupted education for the region\’s schoolchildren made rebuilding these schools a top priority.

The Intervention
Thrive India follows a three-pronged disaster relief approach: immediate aid, mid-term assistance, and long-term community rehabilitation. Our on-ground teams collaborate with local authorities to identify and support vulnerable communities.
Beneficiaries
Direct Beneficiaries: 371 children studying in the school and their parents.
Indirect Beneficiaries: People living in Kharballi Village.
Impact Till Date
- 5 classrooms with red oxide flooring.
- 1 teacher\’s room with red oxide flooring.
- 1 kitchen with red oxide flooring.
- 2 toilets for boys and girls, equipped with 10 urinals and 2 toilets for boys, and 8 urinals and toilets for girls, all with tiled flooring and walls.
- Upgraded electrical wiring, including lighting, fans, and additional safety devices.
